HIKING & CLIMBING TRIP  JUNE 2001

THERE IS STILL plenty of TIME TO SIGN UP!

300 foot cliffs rise out of the Georgian Bay as part of the Niagara Escarpment and is the most extensive old growth forest east of the rocky mountains. ancient Eastern White Cedar Trees in this forest can date over 1000 years old. Two LOGS found at the base of the cliff Radio carbon dated to 3000 years ago meaning they had been lying there since 1000 BC. Wildlife is abundant. CLimbing will be done on cliffs with little to no vegetation as it is important to tread lightly and leave the area undisturbed. Hiking will be done at the top of the cliffs along the Bruce Trail through the heart of the Old growth Forest. The View from the cliffs is Spectacular and the Blue Green water resembles a tropical Island paradise. Further Exploration near Cabot Head reveals Caves carved by the Sea and More Climbing Locations.
